    Prologue

We spent some time this weekend packing, in preparation for our Ocean Voyage in the mid-Northern Latitudes.

We've wanted to try this beautiful ship ever since its launch and now we're less than a week from boarding! I have been eagerly following along on another site, as this amazing vessel traverses the Arctic Ocean back and forth, from Nome, to Svalbard, and now back to Reykjavik. The Aurora and Polar Bear pictures are nothing short of spectacular and I am a bit envious that we're "only" on board for a short Ocean Voyage. I don't think we will be as lucky during our trip but one can always hope.

Denise T posted a topic in Norwegian Cruise Line,

Yes, I know, it’s 72 days until my cruise. But I am so excited that I wanted to share my adventures preparing for our (my sister and I) cruise to Canada/New England on board the Norwegian Sky October 9 through the 19, 2024. I will switch this to a live review once I board. So, get ready and come along as I share my experiences with you!

I'll be trying out a river cruise on CroisiEurope in October, so I wanted to do a post, as there is not much information available on these boards in regards to Croisi. I'll start with some basic information, booking information, and other details first, and then add more information once our travels start.

ceilidh1 posted a topic in Princess Cruises,

Does anyone else feel as if 3 weeks between cruises is just too long? In that time, I could forget the words to Sweet Caroline (that’s for you, @YVRteacher), forget how to Wobble (actually, I wobble far more than I would like these days), and totally forget how to get my shenanigans on Like I could ever really forget that). This can only mean one thing…let’s CRUISE again! Join me on a quick, kid-free jaunt down the coast on my favourite ship in the fleet!

For this cruise, weare on the Seascape for a Caribbean cruise in the YC (Yacht Club). This is our first time on Seascape, though we had previously enjoyed another Sea-class ship, Seaside, which was our very first MSC cruise, back in 2018. She was still rather new back then, just a few months old, and very glittering and glamorous as we had expected from any true Italian donna. We have only ever sailed in YC on MSC, having tried it after two NCL Haven experiences -- and we liked it so much that we have never looked back.

    T-Minus 1 Day!!!

Just the Wife and I on this cruise. I am the cheapest husband in the world so I booked an inside cabin on Deck 12 for ~$1500. No Drink package... but do have the WiFi Stream. Our last cruise was MSC Mera last year... and that was just Okay... I'm gonna give them a few more years before I try them again...

Presumably, this ship is Full Speed Ahead to come pick us up in NYC tomorrow morning...

This will be our first cruise on Oceania so will have a lot to learn as we go. I have been posting a comparison between Celebrity Millennium and Oceania Regatta but wanted this thread to be 100% about Oceania.

Not off to a good start on our trip out to join Encore’s next segment. Woke up at 4.30am with airport pick up at 5.30am to Heathrow. BA had cancelled our flight overnight and assigned an indirect flight for a day later, the day of the cruise but arriving too late anyway. Managed to get two of the last seats on EasyJet out of Manchester. Not quite business class (Club Europe) but what can you do. Now trying to sort out revised airport transfers.<br style="border-style:solid;border-width:0px;">

Our journey began yesterday when we drove from our house to our pre-flight hotel. We always stay at the Marriott Suites Washington Dulles before our morning flights. It’s about a 20 minute drive from our house and offers garage parking at a lower price than the open lot at Dulles. We arrived at the hotel around 1550 in the afternoon, checked in and then relaxed in our room until we went to the hotel restaurant for supper. They use to have the best French Onion Soup here but sadly it has not returned since the restaurant re-opened post COVID.

We have boarded Serenity and are excited for our 2nd Crystal cruise!! We originally booked this cruise to be our first, but my impatience in wanting to experience Crystal and a generous incentive from Crystal caused us to sail the July 2-9 Vancouver round trip…which was wonderful and “Crystallized” us.

Ombud posted a topic in Princess Cruises,

Let me begin by saying that this is my impression and your view will differ. I've read alot of impressions re: Plus, Premier, and Suite experiences. But this is just one view from that ever shrinking population: the standard fare no-frills, come for the ports / stay for the ship unplugged elite cruiser. 😊

Now that we are somewhat recovered from our September 14-24 Escape cruise, I'm finally ready to jump in on this report. That is, aside from the lingering sinus/allergy/phlegm thing...no, it's not COVID...so no need for anyone reading this to social distance or wear a mask. Although, you might want to wash your hands after touching your dirty keyboard, just to be safe.

  • "LIVE" from Symphony of the Seas - Sept. 29, 2024 (B2B)

Radio posted a topic in Royal Caribbean International,

Welcome to "LIVE" from Symphony of the Seas.Hello everyone, and good day. The Sea is Calling.I will head north (I-95) tomorrow to sail Symphony of the Seas from Cape Liberty on Sunday. (September 29, 2024) This will be my first Cruise with Royal Caribbean since Sept 2022. I have been sailing during the last 2 years with MSC, NCL, and Princess Cruises. This will be my first time on Symphony of the Seas. She was built in 2018 and was refurbished in 2023.I look forward to exploring all the neighborhoods onboard to see what may have changed. The ship has been sailing with capacities over 100%. I have read many reports/reviews that there were too many passengers. (with many passengers pushing or shoving in lines, security being called, etc.)I have read previous reviews where passengers loved their cruise while many others hated their cruise, so I will board Symphony of the Seas with an open mind for 14 nights. You will be viewing the ship through my eyes, and I will provide you with my thoughts onboard. This 7 night B2B sailing will have the same itinerary each week.

HBCcruiser posted a topic in Norwegian Cruise Line,

🚢😍🚢. FINALLY! Our twice cancelled 30th Anniversary celebration cruise of the Greek Isles is happening. 🤞🙏. Our first attempt to cruise the Med was supposed to be on the Breakaway in 2021. It got cancelled due to…YUP... COVID. Our second attempt was supposed to take place in 2022 on the Escape BUT that one was cancelled because the ship had to go into dry dock after running aground in Puerto Plata. 🤦‍♀️. Just our luck!
