About The OpportunityResource Management is the "glue" function in our Services organization - working between the Delivery and Consulting Resources team to facilitate the assignment of the right resources to the right customer projects at the right time. The Resource Manager anticipates needs and works with the business to ensure projects are staffed appropriately. The RM develops and possesses a deep knowledge of the skills and capabilities of the resources within their portfolio. The RM meets with the Consulting Managers regularly to ensure an understanding of the growth needs and skills required. The RM works with the Delivery organization to develop a forward view of skill demand the opportunity pipeline. This role reports to the Resource Management Director.
The most important function of this role is making the right staffing decisions while keeping in mind the individual goals of our consulting team members and the needs of the projects. This person is responsible for effectively building and managing relationships with leadership, the operations team, and consulting staff. The Resource Manager is an informal leader in Consulting Services.
What You’ll Get To Do
Work with the business to identify and define staffing needs and identify most appropriate resources to fulfill those needs
Build relationships with business leaders and delivery managers to understand project needs
Maintain relationships with consulting staff to understand individual skill sets and career ambitions
Build in depth knowledge of the portfolio of resources assigned from a skills perspective as well as how they work to ensure correct resources are assigned
Ability to influence others without authority to drive the right staffing decisions.
Provide analysis and maintain metrics for the business such as availability, utilization and identify issues and trends
Work with Consulting Resources and Delivery to maintain the scheduled projects, availability, etc. for the portfolio of resources
Drive a process to ensure that skills for portfolio of resources are maintained
Work with leaders to adjust resource assignments based on change to timeline, additional skills required, etc.
Creative problem-solving skills to solve capacity challenges
Ability to highlight the Consultant skills so Delivery is aware of the Talent assigned to their project
Work with delivery and consulting leadership to develop project-specific skill requirements
Develop and manage capacity and demand reports for the portfolio of resources
Work with Finance and delivery on Order Management function tasks that interface with RM function
Meet with leadership frequently to ensure staffing needs, utilization potential and shortages and surpluses are proactively identified across portfolios
Skills And Experience We Value
BS or BA college degree or work experience equivalent. Previous role that required high degree of organization and productivity
2 years or more experience in resource management, process and/or operations management a plus
Experience in consulting services industry. Strong metrics-focus with ability to use analytics to solve problems and develop solutions
Experience in personnel demand planning, forecasting, and reporting a plus
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Excellent understanding of consulting services staffing processes
Ability to build rapport and gain trust with all levels of personnel
Strong proficiency using Windows and related software such as Microsoft business products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment
Ability to think clearly under pressure. Strong logic and reasoning skills
