Their sales totaled $700,000 in 1958, their first full year of business.
1960
In October 1960 O'Reilly started Ozark Automotive Distributors to buy parts directly from manufacturers and then distribute those parts to O'Reilly and to independent automotive jobbers in the Springfield area.
1961
By 1961, the company's volume had reached $1.3 million – the combined volume of O'Reilly Automotive Distributors, a division formed to serve independent automotive jobbers in the area.
1965
1965 - Second O'Reilly Store Opens In July, O’Reilly Automotive opens its second store at the corner of Glenstone Avenue and Bennett Street in Springfield, MO.
1975
In March of 1975, annual sales volume rose to $7 million, and a 52,000-square-foot facility at 233 S. Patterson was built for the O'Reilly/Ozark warehouse operation.
1978
1978 - Dual-Market Strategy is Born O'Reilly develops the dual-market business strategy enabling the company to maximize sales both in the professional "do-it-for-me" business and in the retail "do-it-yourself" market.
1983
In February 1983 O'Reilly opened its first store outside of Missouri in Berryville, Arkansas, a small town close to the southern Missouri border and thus close to the other O'Reilly stores.
1986
In August 1986 O'Reilly opened its first store in the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area.
In 1986 the company decided for the first time to start stores in cities with more than 100,000 people.
1989
1989 - 100th Store Opens O'Reilly opens its 100th store, 132-Barling, AR.
1992
By late 1992, the O'Reilly family decides to take their thriving company public.
1997
As of December 31, 1997, O'Reilly owned 131 of those stores, leased 69 from others, and leased 59 stores from O'Reilly family real estate investment partnerships.
1999
O'Reilly also planned to open 80 new stores in 1999.
2000
Like other firms, O'Reilly worked to make sure its computer systems were prepared to deal with the "millennium bug" and thus be able to recognize the year 2000.
2001
2001 - Mid-State Acquisition The O'Reilly sales footprint grew by five states with the Mid-State acquisition in the fall (October 1) of 2001.
2008
2008 - CSK Acquisition The July 11 CSK acquisition brings O'Reilly to 40,000 team members and 3,200 stores in 38 states.
2010
2010 - New Corporate Office O'Reilly opens a new, 115,000 square foot Corporate Office in Springfield, MO, on June 1.
2013
2013 - O'Reilly Names New President/CEO On January 1, Greg Henslee was named President/CEO. Ted Wise transitioned from Co-President/COO to the role of Executive Vice President of Expansion.

2020 - COVID-19, Rosalie Retires, and First Prototype Store Opening The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on the world.
