Things to do in Wichita Falls this weekend, Aug. 29-Sept. 2 (2024)

Wichita Falls is poised for high school football season to kick off Friday and for Labor Day weekend relaxation to set in any minute.

When you're not cheering on your favorite player, there is a veritable plethora of things to do this weekend in Wichita Falls. Live music — from a southern alt rocker to a jazz quartet and to a guitarist skilled in blues, flamenco and jazz — is on offer this weekend at a variety of venues.

Charity events give you a chance to do good for veterans and others, and a fall art exhibit just opened. There are also classes in everything from acrobatics and flower arranging to events just for kids.

After closing last weekend for the Hotter'N Hell Hundred, the farmers markets will be open again Saturday. In honor of Labor Day, the weekend list has been extended through Monday.
